On Sunday October 2nd, the City of Kingston, with Frontenac County, are hosting for the first time an autumn harvest celebration - Open Farms Harvest. This ticketed event will take place in the picturesque Memorial Hall, located within Kingston City Hall, where you will have the opportunity to taste, drink, and learn your way through a thoughtfully curated harvest experience, featuring local chefs coming together to prepare delicious food using exclusively local ingredients, brought in by local food producers from rural Kingston and Frontenac County. Every paid ticket will receive a small charcuterie board to use for tastings and food offerings during the event. We will pair your local tastings with a wide selection of Ontario wines from Prince Edward County and Niagara wineries, sample distinct flavours and aromas from some of Kingston area’s finest craft breweries, watch live chef demonstrations sponsored by Stone City Woodworks, and learn from farmer’s themselves about the food they produce and the importance of food security. The afternoon will also offer a farmers market of education, food and music outside in Market Square to carry on conversations around the importance of supporting local.
