About this Class

Why is clean water so important? In this session, children will learn the difference between clean and dirty water and explore how people discovered the need to clean water before drinking it. Participants will hear fascinating stories from the PumpHouse’s history — including what sometimes came out of faucets long ago — and learn why dirty water can make people sick. Together, Water Warriors will build a simple water filter and experiment with cleaning lake water, helping them understand how modern water systems keep communities healthy. This program takes place at the PumpHouse Museum. Portions of the program will take place outdoors and will run rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Designed for children ages 4–7. Younger siblings are always welcome to attend with an accompanying caregiver.
